The Blues have made no secret of their attempts to sign some of the world’s best young talents before other sides get a chance since Todd Boehly took over as the owner of the club.

A number of their additions have been handed first team minutes already, with midfielder Cesare Casadei being a regular off the bench for Mauricio Pochettino in recent weeks.

However, many will not get their chance for some time, even if they bring immense promise. Kendry Paez is already a regular for the senior Ecuador side alongside Moises Caicedo, despite not being able to join until the end of next season.

Now, reports have claimed they are interested in a deal to sign another player with superstar potential in the form of Estevao Willian.

The 17-year-old features predominantly on the right-wing, and has already been tipped for great things in the game by those in the know.

His agent has even gone as far as saying he has the capability and potential to become a Balon d’Or winner in his career.

Now, The Athletic have claimed that the Blues are confident of completing a deal for the player with money involved that could reach north of £50m.

Chelsea favourites to sign Estevao

This follows reports from Brazil that stated they were the favourites for the deal ahead of a number of Premier League sides, with many of Europe’s elite dreaming of the deal.

There will be some Chelsea fans who will still be concerned their appetite to spend big money on players for the future will give them a tough time affording players that can make an impact immediately.

This could lead to the club having to sell a number of top players to balance the books, with Conor Gallagher still somehow linked with a move away.
